A junk journal is a type of handmade journal that is made by using a variety of materials, including scrapbook paper, old book pages, magazine cutouts, ephemera, and other found objects. The idea behind a junk journal is to create a beautiful and unique journal using materials that might otherwise be thrown away or overlooked.
Junk journals can be used for a variety of purposes, including as a daily journal, travel journal, scrapbook, or art journal. They are often filled with a mix of writing, artwork, and other memorabilia, such as tickets, receipts, and photos.
If you’re interested in creating a junk journal, here are some tips on how to get started:
Gather Materials: Start by collecting a variety of materials to use in your journal. This can include old magazines and newspapers, scrapbook paper, vintage postcards, and other ephemera. You can also include papers which are designed especially to make junk journals and scrapbooks, which you can just download and print, like the ones I sell in my ETSY SHOP
Create Your Cover: Use a sturdy material like cardboard or chipboard for your cover. You can decorate it with paint, fabric, or other materials to create a unique design.
Bind Your Journal: There are several ways to bind a junk journal, including using a sewing machine or hand-stitching. You can also use rings or a binder to hold your pages together.
Decorate Your Pages: Use your materials to decorate each page of your journal. Add pockets, tabs, and other interactive elements to make it more interesting.
Start Journaling: Once your journal is complete, it’s time to start using it! Use it to jot down your thoughts, sketch, or document your travels. You can also use it as a scrapbook to collect and display your favorite memories.
In conclusion, a junk journal is a fun and creative way to document your life and express your creativity. By using a variety of materials and techniques, you can create a truly unique journal that reflects your personal style and interests. Give it a try and see where your creativity takes you!

Hello my crafty friends! Would you like to know how you can make a little fairy house lamp like I did with air dry clay?
If so, I have a video showing my process below. This is not really a tutorial video as such, as there is no talking, but I show you my process on this one, and I will do a full tutorial on my next one, which I will put over on my new patreon page.
My patreon page is not set up yet, but I will keep you posted on that one, and there will be lots more clay tutorials coming up on my youtube channel.
Guys…ssssshhhhhhh!….the fairies are here! Let’s not scare them away.
I created some little fairy doors from clay (an air dry clay I make myself), which are like tiny little portals to allow the faery folk to enter into our realm…..you just have to believe!
I have made them into little keychains, which you can dangle from your keychain, backpack, or hang from a junk journal! Maybe you have created a fairy themed JJ lately, wouldn’t these look so lovely adorning your journal?
You can purchase them right here on my website….YES I WANT ONE
I am only selling to Australia and the US at present as I am still trying to figure out shipping prices.
Working with clay is my other passion, and you are going to be seeing a lot more of my clay creations.
I also have a couple of lovely fairy Junk Journal Printable Kits in my etsy shop, HERE, and HERE if you would like to create for yourself a fairy journal.
